-3- been allowed for. This curve should be compared with curve B. Graph 1. as giving a direct indication of the accuracy of the tests. It will be observed that the two conform very closely. GRAPHS 11 & V.{VIENNA} Give the results of braking tests on this car. In these tests the driver adjusted the pressure exerted on the pedal so that the max. braking was obtained without locking any wheels. Graph V.{VIENNA} illustrates the remarkably consistent results which can be obtained with the RR. system. The average retardation of 16.5 ft/sec² must be considered distinctly good for a normal main road. The greatest retardation obtained on Brooklands was 18.5 ft/sec². The high speed braking on the track was not good owing to the rough surface preventing good wheel adhesion. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
