VAI2/ET.8.8.38 - 2 - owing to the annual holiday period. Whether we carry out the repairs at this end or not, the owner has informed us that he will expect his car delivered in London free of all cost to him. In view of the above, we shall be glad to have your instructions as to whether we should carry out the repairs at Rue Gide, or make arrangements to have it shipped to Kingsbury. For your guidance, we have been in touch with the General Transport Company of Paris, and they have informed us that the cost of shipping the above car to Kingsbury would be approximately £.25.10.0. In this figure is included about £.7.0.0, covering the insurance of the car for Frs.200.000, and all customs formalities. If the repairs were carried out at this end, the approximate cost of driving the car to Boulogne and shipping it to Folkestone would be £.10.0.0 (this figure includes the boat fee). We informed Mr. James that we would communicate with you for instructions. Mr. James informed us that, although he would very much have liked to have had his car, it will, however, not put him to any very great inconvenience. He returns to London in about two weeks time.
