Re Flexible Tubing.
--------------------

The flexible tubing of the concertina pattern has not been found a success. For a given amount of strength it is heavy, and has a very high internal resistance to the flow of water and other liquids. It has probably failed through the punishment it receives in manufacture, and owing to the fact that the deflections in bending and during vibrations may take place locally. We have therefore decided to abandon the use of this flexible tubing, and prefer plain tubing with short lengths of rubber hose occasionally.
