(2) toothed wheels one of which is fixed to the member and the other to the driven shaft. This set of toothed wheels perform three important functions, (1) of transmitting the hypocyclic motion only of the friction wheel to the driven shaft. (2) of being able to be proportioned so as to give top gear when the track is fully expanded or alternatively contracted. (3) of proportioning the pressure between the two friction members (wheel & track) according to the load-thus preventing slip. ---------- The chief features of the Gear briefly described above are:- Provides infinitely variable Speed & Torque ratio. Consists of rotary motion throughout and continuous drive. All moving parts are balanced in every gear position. Top gear can be arranged in the position of least movement of working parts. ---------- | ||
