S/W. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} X3730 GWYNNE BODY ON GOSHAWK Sp{Mr Spinney}20/H/28.4.22. With reference to your telephone communication concerning the faulty and dangerous condition of the Gwynne Body fitted to the 10,000 miles Goshawk car now at Derby. I asked permission from L.H.S.{Lord Herbert Scott - Chair} to visit you at Derby on this matter. He considers however that such visit would cause waste of money and would serve no purpose because we here all realise that the body is quite an experimental one and is faulty in very many respects. We are quite unlikely to buy another of these bodies. Re your second telephone message that the body is too dangerous to run. I await your further communication in which you will state if you wish us to send a Mulliner man to put the unsafe parts in order. Although we know the body is a great failure, we are rather sorry that this is so, because we understand that Talbots claim to have increased their Sales very considerably by adopting this body. We are therefore studying all-weather bodies in general in the hope of finding something which will pass your severe tests. Sp.{Mr Spinney} | ||
