SECRET 651 Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}2/AP.24.3.37. WRAITH III. PETROL TANK. ✓ One of the lower straps carrying the petrol tank has failed on the bump chassis. It has broken where the width is reduced over the jointing pin. We suggest that the strap be left the full width and carried directly from the bracket attached to the frame, which should then have two lugs left on either side running fore and aft and a ¼" bolt through them and the full width of the strap. This would also do away with the rivetting of a short piece of strap on the lower half of the bracket and should save cost. The baffles in this tank have also failed and the near side of the tank collapsed. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} | ||
