Dear Sir, I beg to refer to my application, addressed to your goodself, of the 13th. ult. and the kind reply of the 24th. ult. by M.C. Wilks Esq., Chief Engineer. I regret to advise you that this application has been forwarded to my present employers - Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Derby. The result of this regrettable incident is that I have been "Dismissed." Being now confronted with "Unemployment - with an indelible stain on my personal character." The Rolls-Royce, Ltd., having stated that the contents of this application is the only reason for my dismissal, ahe crime being that I have divulged "The Company's Secrets." In my application to your goodself I had not the slightest intention of divulging any information that may be prejudicial to the interests of Rolls-Royce, Ltd., my only desire being to try and obtain a position in Coventry, owing to my home and domestic responsibilities still being here, after 15 months service with Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Derby. The foregoing was stated in my application. I have written to Mr. Hives, Director and General Manager, Rolls-Royce, Ltd., requesting a re-consideration of my "dismissal", on the aforementioned grounds. I should, therefore, be indebted to your goodself if you would contact him on my behalf in support of this request, as I cannot believe that it was your intention that I should be dismissed, furthermore, I can sincerely assure you that the information contained in my application was stated in complete ignorance of any offence that I was committing against Rolls-Royce, Ltd., I should appreciate a reply to this latter. Believe me, Yours very truly, Signed ... H.H. Morley. | ||
