To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X5300 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}12/KW. 8.3.34. 20/25 Clutch Pressure Plates in Cast-Iron. We want to find out whether the bursting of these is due to centrifugal effect or to hammering on the splines. We should like therefore to run up a complete clutch and flywheel to about 5,500 revs. This will show whether centrifugal effect alone will cause failure. Although we have issued a Standardisation Sheet for this part to be made in Nickel Steel, a considerable number of cars have been sold with cast-iron plates. Will you therefore please arrange a rig for the carrying out of this experiment. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Grylls. | ||
