COPY. WE.83. 5.3.31. INSULATION TESTS ON DISCS MOULDED FROM SYNTHETIC POWDERS OBTAINED BY MR. BROCK FROM VARIOUS SOURCES. Leakage conductance at various temperatures and breakdown voltage tests have been carried out on moulded discs of bakelite material obtained from Stokes, British Dyestuffs Corp. and Nestorite, together with discs of our standard material Redmanol. The following results were obtained :- (a) Breakdown voltage test. Redmanol .058" thick - Broke down after 2½ mins. at 19,400 volts R.M.S. Stokes grade 18/3.S.L. .052" thick Withstood 19,400 volts R.M.S. for 15 mins. O.K. B.D.C. grade AL.229/31 .061" thick. Withstood 19,400 volts R.M.S. for 15 mins. O.K. Nestorite flow 15 .061" thick Withstood 19,300 volts R.M.S. for 15 mins. O.K. Nestorite flow 20 .061" thick Withstood 19,300 volts R.M.S. for 15 mins. O.K. | ||
