Contd. -3- EFC1/T16.11.21. for the Goshawk ignition to be .25 mf. We do not see how it is possible to attain this result on a mica condenser in the space provided. We could get a little nearer by omitting the bolt holes through the condenser and relying upon the clamping down of the condenser for the connections. By this means we increase the available area 15 to 20%. We could also get a slightly deeper condenser, say about 10% It is suggested that Messrs. Dubilier, whose condensers we are now using as standard on the 40/50 after being satisfied that these are equally as satisfactory as our own, should be consulted on the question, but particularly on the alternative of paper condensers. It is possible that they may have some experience with such condensers which would be available to us and which might save us a lot of expense in experimenting. We are obtaining .001" mica for the purpose, but this can only be guaranteed within the limits .001, .0008, which makes the possible variation considerable. EFC.
