-2- The clutch position has been reviewed in view of C's note on the subject. We think we should at once order up flywheels for the 20/27 to suit the Borg & Beck clutch. These flywheels, apart from the drilling, are exactly the same as the ones used on the Bentley; therefore if they are brought up to the drilling stage and are not required for the 20/25, they can be utilised on the Bentley. At the present moment Hancock is in London making a modification to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s clutch to bring it up to our latest standard, and we think that this will answer his criticisms relative to smooth engagement. Hancock is also taking the opportunity of comparing the idling of the two cars. Briefly, our feeling now is that the big bore 20/25 has reached a stage where if it was sold in its present condition it would represent an improvement over the series at present on test. We do not expect to be able to get the best possible results on the parts in question with regard to pick-up and slow running until we have done further development work. This is always to be expected on a new design. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Att: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}1/KW.22.1.36.
