X8430 H8980 To Pt. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG10.3.28. With reference to Pt6/FM11.1.28. This is a trouble we have never had on a 10,000 miles test car, you must have bumped very hard. However it will not exist in the future as we are putting the column dia. up to 2 1/4". Stretching in proximity to a brazed joint is not very desirable, but if no observable defects make themselves manifest in the brazing after stretching, we do not think the column should be dangerously weakened by such treatment.
