X 5380 SECRET. To Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} /HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}5/11.11.29. EXPERIMENTAL ENCLOSED LIMOUSINE 20-25 HP. LONG CHASSIS X5830 X5380 We are sending you herewith the original of N.Sch.2969. which shows the new body which we wish to replace that at present on 14-GIV. The object of this new body is to demonstrate the virtues of the new bonnet and dash, and the long frame and new steering especially in the case of a maximum body such as this. We understand that you agree that the body can be made provided we mount it in Derby. We would like it to be made at Park Wards but failing that at Barkers. It will be known to all outsiders as a special body and chassis for Mr.Royce. This drawing and the enclosed specification will enable you to fix up the preliminaries, and as soon as you let us know we will send the full set of drawings to the coachbuilder. We need the body as soon as possible, as the chassis is well on the way. Will Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} give us a date for the delivery of the subframe, and we have wired By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} for a detail of the subframe side member. We would also like Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to tell us whether the chassis will be called 14-GIV or whether it will be re-numbered. We also want to hear from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} whether the chassis has the final frame side member or the provisional experimental one. When you have taken the necessary prints would you kindly return the original to us. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
