Silent Bloc Mounting on 25 H.P. Car.
------------------------------------

We understand that in view of the success of some form of rubber mounting on the Phantom III and on the Bentley, Coachbuilders are desirous of using the rubber mounting on the 25 H.P. cars.

We understand that Sales have agreed to bring through two trials cars with some form of rubber mounting, one of which will be with Silent Bloc fittings.

We have been asked whether we are in a position to give our views on such a scheme, and have suggested that before we can do so we ought really to make a test ourselves, and it has been suggested that 22 G 4 should be converted to Silent Bloc mounting to obtain a test.

We would be glad if you would let us know whether you could arrange for this to be done by the original Coachbuilders, or what other proposals you are able to make to enable us to test this feature which not only appears to need investigation from the point of view of its effect on steering and tyre noise, but also ought really to run 10,000 miles.
