LUCAS STARTING & LIGHTING SETS. THOMSON-BENNETT MAGNETOS. YOUR REF -- OUR REF CLB/GD. 29th April, 1920. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Nightingale Road, D E R B Y. For The Attention of Mr. Fowler Clark. Dear Sirs, X.3014A Chassis Lighting Dynamo. X.4060 Referring to the writer's telephone conversation with you yesterday afternoon, we confirm that we are proceeding now with Machine No. C.575, from which we hope to obtain a Cutting-In Speed of 500 r.p.m., and maximum output, when hot, of 8 Amperes. The exact characteristics we are unable to give you until our tests are completed, but we hope to send you a Machine on these lines towards the end of next week. In the meantime, all the other aspects of the matter are receiving our urgent attention, and we are inclined to think that this Machine with Armature, the core of which is 3" long, would be the most suitable Machine to make for you. The present Core length of the E.575 is 2 5/8", and we are prepared to manufacture this longer Machine but feel that it would be better to be concentric 4 Pole. Yours faithfully, THE LUCAS ELECTRICAL COMPANY LTD., p.p. C L Barrow DIRECTOR. | ||
