Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 1104 March 15th, 1938. W.R. Boyle, Esq., Messrs. Morris Motors Ltd., Engines Branch, Gosford Street, COVENTRY. Dear Boyle, We have been looking at the picture of the 25 H.P. Wolseley engine in "Automotive Industries", and we notice that the combustion chamber seems to contravene a number of Mr. Taub's theories. We should be interested to know what is the highest compression ratio you can run on this engine, and whether it requires a very small amount of spark advance. Also, do you find that it is, relatively speaking, rough ? If you are not entirely satisfied with it we might be able to suggest ways of improving it, but if it works satisfactorily, then our theories are all wrong. With regard to the date of our visit, we would like to communicate with you nearer the end of the month. I am sorry that I mistook the name of the branch where you function. Yours sincerely, | ||
