Dear Mr.Skinner, I have today come across a "G" type diaphragm fitted some three months ago by ourselves to a 6 cyl. Singer, and returned as leaking, and I am rather inclined to agree. Upon close examination of the diaphragm you will see that the Dope has almost gone, specially on the petrol side, this has been done through the use of "Discol" fuel by the owner. This is an interesting point, as I have used this fuel on my own car for the past twelve months and have not discovered any dissolving such as this, only that the rubber connections on the pipeline have perished once; this, of course, I expected. We hope that this is an isolated case of the Discol affecting the diaphragm as we have had in the past great faith in fitting to all pumps that use it. Your comments will be appreciated. Yours sincerely, | ||
