STIFFER BIG END BEARINGS TO DES.927 / 3859

Engine F.XLV.MS.27. Pistons 5.3/1 comp: ratio.

We have completed seven hours running on this
engine with DES.927 incorporated. These 7 hrs. include 2 hrs.
endurance at 472 B.HP. and about 10 mins. at 2750 r.p.m. - the max.
permissible speed for 600 B.HP. engine.

On dismantling, these bearings were found to be in
excellent condition. The engine is being re-built for further
development work and we will report on the condition of them in
due course.
