TELEPHONE RAINHAM 34 (ESSEX) ESTABLISHED 1882. PETO & RADFORD Proprietors: Pritchett & Gold and E.P.S. Company, Limited. Manufacturers of P. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} and Dagenite Accumulators. LONDON OFFICE: 50, GROSVENOR GARDENS, VICTORIA, LONDON, S.W.1. DAGENHAM DOCK, ESSEX. Station: Dagenham Dock, (L.M.S. Rly. Tilbury Section.) Your Ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/WSTL/MA. Our Ref. CGFP/GL.{G. Linnett} 2nd. October, 1933. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of September 29th, we are not quite certain what you mean by cracks on the surface of the battery container of the 6-BDG11.SC battery, but we think you must be referring to the slight flow lines which are apparent, particularly near the bottom of the sides. If this is the case we can assure you that there is nothing whatever to worry about. The marks are only caused by the fact that the material tends to fold itself slightly on the surface when being pressed. The lines do not go into the material for any depth, and are not detrimental in any way. The container was very carefully inspected before it left us, and we feel quite certain that it will not give you any trouble. Yours faithfully, PETO & RADFORD. C. P. Patchett | ||
