X4240 To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to CJ. c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/LG19.6.22. GOSHAWK LIMOUSINE X.4219 (struck through) X.4240 X4267 X.4241. We have sent 3-Goshawk-11 (limousine) to London this afternoon. This car is now fitted with the latest "B" pedals and foot boards. We have not, however, been able to modify the steering. On the latest design the wheel is 1" higher. Also with this car we have sent a wooden model of the latest shape of radiator, a temporary bonnet and packing for dashboard to suit. We consider that the modification to the pedals has affected a considerable improvement. The modification to the radiator and bonnet, we consider, has improved the appearance of the car, but we should not like to say that it has made it look less like the 40/50, in fact, from a side or three-quarter view, we consider it more closely resembles the 40/50.
