For the attention of Mr.S.H.Grylls.

Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter of the 15th inst., having reference to the conversion of ten 5.00-16" wheels to take the Dunlop 6.00 & 5.50-16" rims, and we confirm our telephone conversation with you to-day in connection therewith.

In regard to the 6.00-16" wheels, these will be manufactured with a track line .086" outset as shown on our latest drawing GDS.1686, a print of which you will doubtless be receiving from our Birmingham House in due course.

With reference to the 5.50-16" wheels, we have pointed out to you that on your drawing GB.5090, the location of the valve hole is in accordance with our usual practice, i.e., on that side of the rim well adjacent to the narrow tyre seat and it is understood that in this respect we are to work to the drawing and ignore the wording in the third paragraph of your letter.

In building these wheels, we propose to follow our usual practice of working to a definite dimension between the inner edge of the rim and the wheel bolting-on face, and we gather that sufficient spring has been allowed in the covering discs to compensate for any variation in the width of the rim.

We note the urgency with which the one set of wheels with 5.50" rims is required, and this will be given preference over the 6.00" size.

Yours faithfully,
FOR THE DUNLOP RIM & WHEEL CO. LTD.
