February. (handwritten and struck through)
5th. January, 1940.

Messrs. Ferodo Ltd.,
Chapel-en-le-Frith.

For the attention of Mr. Longley.

Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter of the 31st. of January and are sorrry to hear of your shortage of fuel and power.

With regard to the thickness of the interleaving we think .080" would be most suitable. We should like to know what the cost per spring is likely to be and whether a reduction in thickness to .064 would reduce the cost.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
