Dear Mr. Hives,

Re Amateur-driven Goshawk.

How far do you want this to carry on?

I do not know what the speedometer reading is now, but it must be somewhere in the neighbourhood of 10,000 miles, and so far I have only made arrangements for it up to September 1st. Next week Mr. Thomas of the Paris Depot is driving it, and it will then be handed over to CJ., who wants to use it in France from then until September 1st.

Do you want the car back at Derby then, or shall I carry on with arrangements for further drivers?

C.
