6.EX CAR. X3923 X4165 X.4338

With reference to your telegram enquiring for 6.EX Car.

The position of this car is as follows:-

All the repairs due to the accident have been completed.

The body has been re-built and the body, scuttle wings etc. have been fitted up once on the chassis but have now been removed again for painting.

Whilst the body and wings are being filled up and painted, we propose fitting the following electrical parts on to the chassis :-

1. Klaxon switch on steering column.

2. Goshawk Distribution board and Cut-out.

3. Goshawk switch Box.
If it is impossible to modify the switch suitable for earthing magneto, we propose fitting a separate switch for the time being.
The Delco switch, although suitable for switching both ignitions, has no switch for the Generator.

4. Goshawk Generator.
We propose fixing the standard Goshawk Generator fitted with the present standard 40/50 pulley. We consider, until we have the new large machine ready, it would be quite satisfactory for the work which 6.EX does, to run with a Goshawk Generator. It would then mean that when the new Generator was completed it would only take a very short time to fit it.

5. Goshawk ignition. X4644.
The D.O. here have made us a scheme for fixing this ignition to the 40/50 engine. The 40/50 distributor shaft runs the opposite way to the Goshawk which means that we must either make the ignition unit suitable or reverse the turning of the shaft and modify the oil pump to suit.
We have been running this ignition on the 40/50 engine on the test bed to check that the range on the governor is correct.
