Dear Sirs, We acknowledge your letter of the 1st instant, your reference:-Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA., in connection with the damped ammeter recently submitted to you. We have pleasure in attaching herewith a rough sketch showing the action of this damped ammeter, the damping consists of a separately pivoted mass with a particular inertia which is coupled to the armature by means of a fork and an armature extension in such a manner that the damper and armature rotate in opposite directions. We trust that this sketch and description above of the mechanism will be satisfactory to you, and await your instructions for the future. Assuring you always of our best attention to your requirements. Yours faithfully, JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED. [Signature] Technical Sales Department. | ||
