Dear Sirs,

For the attention of MR. Paul.

SILENT TREAD TYRES.

With reference to the modified Silent Tread which is at present being tried by our Sales Dept.

We should like to know whether you have any figures from you tests which indicate how far this modified tread falls short of the Triple Stud in non-skidding properties on ordinary tar-macadam roads.

We think these tyres are commendably silent and appreciate that you will be unable to alter the appearance a great deal without spoiling this feature.

With reference to your request made some time ago, that we should alter the out of balance limit which we allow on 40/50 tyre. We have altered the balance weights on the 20" wheel and in consequence we shall be able to accept tyres of the 7" section for this rim up to an out of balance of 110 lbs.ins. ozs.

Yours faithfully,

For Rolls-Royce Ltd.
