Dear Mr. Hives, In reply to your letter of the 4th instant, there seems to be some misunderstanding as to the type of Rapson tyres supplied for private trials on your Rolls Royce cars. These are not of the double tread variety and if the pattern on the rear tyres has been worn away in a few thousand miles, the fabric will become visible. We can, of course supply a further set of Rapson tyres fitted with double treads for you to test if you so desire, or as an alternative, we should be happy to re-tread the tyres you are now testing with double treads, so that your trials may continue on the same original casing. As substantially, some seven thousand miles had been run without the slightest trouble at the date of your last report, we should very much like you to fit the worn rear tyres to the front, changing the front pair to the rear and run all four on until the fabric is exposed. We would then take the tyres back and re-tread these with our All communications to be addressed to the Company, not to individuals. | ||
