To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.C. Position of "R" engines. R-3. R-5. R-7. R-9. R-11. R-15. } are all awaiting disposal instructions. Not serviceable. R-17. R-19. } Originally "Miss England" engines, and used for practice engines for "Miss England III". Since been dismantled and used as dummies, therefore, do not exist. R-21. R-23. R-25. } Not considered serviceable. Have done development run ing and been used for practice flight. Dismantled, awaiting disposal instructions. R-27. Engine did Speed Record. Dismantled and certain parts used on other engines, therefore, replacements are required. Engine is considered not to be serviceable for outside service. R-29. Is complete and considered suitable for development. Not for outside service. R-31. Engine made for spare for Schneider Trophy and is now being repaired for type test. R-33. R-35. } These were used in "Miss England III" but were dismantled in order to make up a spare for Sir Malcolm Campbell, therefore, do not exist. R-37. Is the engine used for land speed record in "Bluebird" and is in an assembled condition and serviceable and ready for test. R-39. Engine which was prepared as a spare for the "Bluebird".
