Dear Mr. Robotham,

We have recently had a complaint brought to our attention regarding 5.50/18 covers fitted to a Bentley.

The complaint was that the toes of the bead were chafing the inner tube. We replaced the covers and tubes and asked that the set of covers and tubes be returned to the Factory for examination. We found that the chafing had occurred at a point on the inner tube where it had been doubled over in fitting.

I thought that it would be advisable to bring this matter to your attention as you might like to look into this. We have checked up our tube sizes and we can find nothing wrong in this direction. It may be that someone has been careless in fitting.

Have you had any results yet from the 6.00/17 tyres fitted to the Bentley?

I am sorry I did not have an opportunity of seeing you at the time of the Show in London and I am wondering if there are any matters which you would like to discuss with me at present.

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
