I read with interest your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}IO/

Upon investigating this matter I find that we have not had occasion to drain the crankcase of the Bentley fitted with a large helical gear oil pump but we have every reason to believe that one or two of our customers have done so and we have never had any complaint.

We will make a point next time a car comes in of draining the oil and will give you a report on this matter.

If you come through Paris on your way back to England after your trip, I might then be able to take a few days rest and would cadge a seat in your car back to England with you.
