AIR RELEASE IN FILLER TUBE.
We found that with a .025" dia. hole drilled in the side, near the top of the filler tube (or stand pipe) the damper did not over fill. When drilled .032" dia. there is a tendency to slightly over fill; from three tests we found that the oil level was approx. .200" above standard.
With a .055" dia. release, damper fills right up quite easily. Thus it will be advisable to exceed .025" dia. for this modification. The operation of filling during these tests was accomplished by syringe, the oil being fed in slowly.
