Observations on spring arrangements and the necessity for a rigid support for the fixed contact.

Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 5/T3.6.25. observations so far seem to show that the best arrangement is the rigid plate on the top of the spring, together with a rigid support. In any case we now definitely assert that the support of the fixed contact must be made rigid, even if it results in a somewhat more expensive piece. It is quite likely that the weaker spring, together with the rigid fixed contact point support would be equally effective and possibly more so than the other arrangement, but it is, as stated, a fact that the result of the C arrangement, which it so happens has had the most running during the holiday, is the most satisfactory so far.
