bearings along the shafts. Both these units, we believe, if once made silent, will remain so, in fact our experience is, especially with the gearboxes, that they become more silent with running.

There is another advantage which the Goshawk type has as regards silence, and that is, the axle is less rigidly attached to the frame, so that the vibrations and noises due to the axle gearing ought not to be carried to the frame and body as easily as in the case of the 40/50.

In the Seagull it is intended to follow the practice of the Goshawk in all respects. The axle is just going to Derby this very week, the gearbox has been quite re-designed for "Servo", for four wheel brakes,and side change levers. It too is nearly ready - perhaps in 10 days hence it will be all complete.

Some important and vital parts of the engine for Seagull also leave WW. this week, so that Derby will be very busy in experimental produce.
