20/25 HP. Chassis Exhaust details for last 50 of 100 "V" Series

You will recollect you authorised we should proceed with only the first 50 sets of these details, pending the result of experiments proceeding with the resonant type silencer.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} tells us the Silencer has still to run its usual 10,000 miles, and from present indications it will be at least 8 weeks before a Standardisation Sheet can be issued - provided the tests come through satisfactorily.

On this basis it is recommended you agree purchase of a further 25 sets of the present type Silencer details, i.e. making 75 in all, and that the question be reviewed again in, say, 5-6 weeks time. This recommendation is made on the assumption that:

(a) The output continues at the rate of 5 per week after July 9th, which means that

(b) Chassis No.150 is due to Road Test September 17th.

It is realized that purchase of the present type Exhaust details involves an expenditure of roughly £6. more per Chassis, but in the circumstances unfortunately we have no alternative.
