[Handwritten note 'Htec' across title] To overcome the rattles in the knob of the gear lever, which appear to be due to too much slack on the diametral fit of the knob guide and rather insufficient control as regards length, we have made PD.126 herewith, shewing an increased length of bearing control(obtained without spoiling the spring) and tightening up of the diametral clearance. [Handwritten note 'slight' with an arrow pointing to the preceding text] Please detail and instruct experimentally.
