- 4 - appears to be only 1° instead of the 6 or 7° expected, RR. will inspect the throttle mechanism, to make sure that the oil is not passing straight through the spindle, in other words, whether the central plugs have been left out or not. The straight through unions for the oil connections on the ends of the throttle spindles will be replaced by elbows, and RR. will inform S.U. at what angles the elbows should be schemed to suit the run of the oil pipes. (12) Dural Nuts. It was agreed that the carburetter shall be fitted with Dural nuts. (13) Long Studs. S.U. will scheme two short studs with external nuts on the blower casing in place of the two long studs at the rear and two long set screws in place of the two studs at the front. RR. will use set screws on the experimental carburetter to try out this scheme. The final design will have screwed inserts for the two long set screws proposed. (14) Accelerator Pump. An Air release orifice will be arranged in the floatchamber and S.U. are providing a modified piston fitted with two cup leathers in place of the cork packing rings, which will have less friction. (15) Intake Drain. S.U. will arrange the drain orifice at the lower part of the air intake when carburetter is tilted up at 15°. (16) Threads. It is agreed that the threads need not be interfered with at all internal S.U. parts. It is only stipulated that external studs should have RR. threads, and as these are mostly 1/4"x 26 they fit in with S.U. existing standards. | ||
