The next car we wish to purchase is a 1938 Buick, as this has the modification to the cylinder head, to which we referred in our American report. We are particularly anxious to obtain this inform-ation to incorporate in the Phoenix engine at present being designed. If we put in an order to Lendrum & Hartman forth-with for one of these cars, we have made arrangements with the Chief Engineer of the Buick Motor Co. to give us the earliest possible delivery and at the same time to check over the chassis in their Experimental Shop before despatch. If we make a decision now we ought to get the Buick before Christmas. Another feature which is interesting on this car is that they substitute coil springs for leaf springs between the rear axle and the chassis. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
