BENTLEY 11.A. REAR AXLE.

Referring to HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth}2/VS.{J. Vickers}19.10.37. and dealing with the items in the order given :-

Z/Hk.{Col. T. Harker - Sales}

(1). Since the removal of the part now projecting beyond the cone of the bevel gears seems to be no advantage, we propose to return to the existing Bentley practice.

(2). We agree to deleting the adjusting washer.

(3). We are sending a scheme of an aluminium inspection cover.

(4). This has all been done.

(5). A scheme has been issued.

(6). We agree. Could HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/HH. give us particulars of the flats required.

(7). We agree to the extension of the hexagon, but think it might be turned in the centre without much cost.

(8). We are not sure what is the difficulty here.

(9). Detail modifications, Will G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Dept. please carry out.

(10). We are sending a scheme re-spacing the bolts.

(11). We will screw the fork end tight on the rod, and lengthen the nut at the other end to prevent the possibility of there being insufficient thread in either. Scheme being done.

(12). We do not agree. It has since been demonstrated that there is clearance for the linings with the adjustment at zero.

(13). Works apparatus.

(14). We agree to using parallel bolts - will G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Dept. please modify.

(15). These modifications have been carried out.
