20 HP. CAR FOR U.S.A.

If Mr. Royce approves, we could make it convenient to send one of the existing experimental cars to U.S.A. We consider, however, if we go to the expense, in order to get any reliable information and also in order to help the U.S.A. Officials in their criticisms, it will be essential to send with the car somebody who has had considerable experience with the 20 HP. car.

We consider that if we are likely to sell any number of 20 HP. cars in U.S.A. or Canada, it would be an excellent thing to get a car there this Winter. It is a question, however, for R.{Sir Henry Royce} to decide.

As regards when the car would be ready. This would depend upon whether R.{Sir Henry Royce} required any new experimental features fitting. At the present time, the car we have in mind to send is 7-Goshawk-11 which is fitted with a Maythorn Saloon body because if the car is to be run in very low atmospheric temperatures it will be essential to have a covered body. This car is being returned from Maythorns today. We should say, if necessary, the car could be ready to send to U.S.A. in a week or 10 days time.
