81487. Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KT. 8th June, 1931. The S.U. Carburetter Co, Bordersley Green Road, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, We are considering trying S.U. carburetters on our 40/50 HP. engine, which is 7.6 litres displacement. The lay-out we are considering is similar to that of the 8-litre Bentley, i.e. two separate carburetters with the shortest possible induction manifold. We should be glad if you would send us particulars of carburetters you suggest would be suitable for our engine, and at the same time we should be interested to know whether you recommend any arrangement of induction system with use of these carburetters on a 6 cylinder engine. We should also like to know the price of a pair of carburetters similar to those you supply for the 8-litre Bentley. Your faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
