| The R.R. bearing is used without steel backing. It has given satisfactory results in thicknesses varying from .125 to .062 thick. The latter thickness is, of course, comparable with the thin shell type of bearing which is now being used somewhat extensively throughout the Automobile industry. Being used without backing, the R.R. bearing is exceedingly light, being little more than 1/3rd. the weight of the normal lead bronze or babbit lined steel shell. | ||
