normal conditions, our main worry at the moment is the increase in this restriction due to obstruction. Opening up radiators has proved that almost invariably this obstruction is confined to the top row of tubes. Therefore, the area available in the top row has a direct bearing on trouble free service, and over lap of the top tank controls this. The attached sketch shews that our top row gap area is about 10% less on F2B series than on V series. Since we find from laboratory tests that the electrolytic action of the aluminium head is the predominating feature, it is of course no use comparing recent cars with V series with regard to immunity from the trouble.
