-2- X3994? BJS/D21.12.27. very thoroughly in a practical high speed test on French roads before we adopt it. We had been inclined to adopt it before it had been tested for the whole 10,000 mile run, as we thought then it would be possible to introduce it into the F.{Mr Friese} series, but now this 10,000 miles test has been postponed there is no chance of its getting into the F.{Mr Friese} series and there, therefore, seems no reason why it should not complete the 10,000 miles before it is adopted. Here again we feel that our policy of making quite sure that any large departure is satisfactory [overwritten with 'X's] by means of practical road tests is very essential as a serious failure in a number of our chassis would do us infinitely more harm than the improvement could do us good. Our policy of 10,000 miles test which has been in existence for so many years should, therefore, still be retained. BJ. | ||
