Your suggestion of returning to one of our earlier schemes is good, and very simple, if it will please Sales. Kindly refer it to them, saying we shall always recommend running on both ignitions, and HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} says we always charge, and that there is no need to provide means of running on both ignitions, and no charge. Let PN.{Mr Northey} confirm this.

Also for demonstration, if they wish to run their slowest with battery ignition only, there would be no advantage in having the charge on, because the engine is then too slow. Therefore go ahead if PN.{Mr Northey} agrees to this memo.

It will be noticed that with this earlier scheme we can economise current by running on magneto only, and charging. I am referring to:-

Magneto & charge.
B. & M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} & Charge.
B. & no charge.
O.{Mr Oldham}

No extra switch.

This is good and simple if it is all that Sales require.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
