| To RY. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c.c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Sft.{Mr Swift} X214. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}3/HP.10.7.33. Connecting Rod Oil Pipes - Bentley. We send you herewith drawing LeC.3556 showing the oil pipes attached to the connecting rods with four clips instead of two, and suitably shaped. This should be adopted immediately as the present pipes are very unsatisfactory, as they break and come adrift from the rods. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} has made a set of rods to this drawing and these are now on an engine for test. The last 20-HP. car suffered in this respect on the 10,000 miles test, and we, therefore, anticipate that the 20-HP will require this improvement also. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
