Dear Sirs, For the attention of W.A.Robotham Esq. The six pistons in 122 Alloy, removed from the Bentley car, have now been received and have been given further examination in conjunction with your schedule of dimensions, which latter we very much appreciate. As a result of these considerations, we are modifying the machining dimensions of the two further sets of pistons we now have in hand as follows:- 1. The incorporation of a radius where the heat break slot separates the pressure face from the crown. 2. A reduction in the pressure face clearance. 3. The introduction of a taper in the length of the piston skirt. The extent and nature of these modifications are shown on the attached revised blue print, which we have pleasure to enclose for your information. We notice on the advice note covering the return of the pistons in 122 alloy that they are "Our property on loan".
