K.S. PETROL GAUGE TANK FITTING.

In reply to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}5/M26.8.30. the suggested alteration to the banjo piece to enable a pump to be connected up to clean out the pipe lines, will improve the design considerably.

With regard to the armouring union nut, we do not see quite the necessity for a nut at all at this point, it is surely possible to make a permanent joint here between the armouring and the banjo. On the model we have here made up, one cannot see the soldering of the pipes in the banjo when the nut is disconnected (the whole unit being in position on a car). It would appear better to make the joint so that it cannot be undone at all.

We are looking into the question of the size of the hole in the rear crossmember.

As the K.S. Telegauge makers do not approve of the design we do not feel justified in standardising it until it has been fully tried out. we do not wish to risk making the gauge any more unreliable than it is at present.
