BUICK CAR.

During the short time in which this car was at our disposal, we have taken the following particulars.

Type 28-27C. Serial number 136260. Eng.No. 2024730.

Bore 3.125" Stroke 4.5". 6 cylinders. Cu. capacity = 3395 cc.

Swept vol. 565.7 cc. Volumn of combustion head 155 cc. (by measurement).

Compression ratio (from above) 4.65 : 1.

Horse power (RAC.rating) = 23.4.

Firing order 1. 4. 2. 6. 3. 5.

Engine oil capacity .875 gals. Water 3.125 gals.

Petrol tank capacity 13.625 gals.

Wheelbase 114.875". Track (front) 57" Toe in = .3125".

Overall length (a) Luggage grid closed = 177".
(b) " " open = 185".

Effective circumference of tyre on rear at 40 lbs/sq.in. = 96.75".

Top gear ratio = 5.10. 2nd. gear = 9.23. 1st. gear = 15.3
Reverse gear = 18.45 : 1

Car weight (saloon body) filled up with water, petrol, oil etc.
tools and spares, one spare tyre and rim carried at the rear :

Front = 15 cwts. (1680 lbs.)
Rear = 17 cwts. 1 qr. 14 lbs. (1946 lbs.)
Total = 32 cwts. 2 qrs. 7 lbs. (3647 lbs.)

Whilst the car was in our possession one of the outer valve springs broke. The valve springs have the following dimensions etc :-
