To DY.{F R Danby} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} HHC. X327 E/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/MN.30.5.35. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} GBX SPECTRECodename for Phantom III FRAME. We send herewith LeC 4513 showing the final arrangement of the frame side member for the 4th. SpectreCodename for Phantom III and the subsequent chassis. The side channel is the standard pressing which we already have, but three hand-holes have been moved and four additional ones added in order that the latest designs for body brackets, step irons and wheel carriers may be used, and the large number of distance pieces necessitated in the original design may be avoided. The thickness of the side channel material is maintained at .104". It is intended that this side channel arrangement shall entirely supersede the one previously sent to you showing a large number of hand-holes, and a thickened side channel material of .116".
