(7) They make the seat for the poppet valve in the oil reservoir by tapping a ball onto the knife edge.

(8) They have obtained valve lift curves at speed by means of a mirror fitted to the valve stem. These curves are about 1 foot high. They show working deflection of the valve gear, incipient bounce etc. and have been of great assistance in improving the valve gear. I have examples demonstrating this.

(9) Packards have standardised the Cadillac tappet on their 12 cyl.

(10) The 'White' 'bus Co. have recently enthused on the Cadillac tappet, which they are using. They claim that they do not now have to look at the valves until they re-bore at 100,000 miles.
